Bringing Play Beyond Childhood

Playing to Heal believes play isn't something we should outgrow. Through sensory experiences, creativity, hands-on activities, and community events, we create opportunities for people of different ages and abilities to reconnect with play, support their well-being, and build meaningful connection.

Our Philosophy

Play Doesn't Have an Expiration Date

As we grow up, play tends to disappear — crowded out by school, work, responsibility, and the quiet assumption that play is just for kids. Playing to Heal exists to challenge that idea. Through sensory play, creativity, and hands-on activities, we help people rediscover the joy, connection, and well-being that play can bring at any stage of life.

Whether someone is 7, 27, 57, or 87, we believe they deserve the chance to experience it.

Why Play Matters
Who We Serve

Play Belongs to Everyone

Playing to Heal creates opportunities for people of different ages and abilities — because play was never meant to belong to just one group.

Adults of All Ages

Creative, hands-on experiences for anyone who could use a little more play in daily life.

Older Adults

An important community for us — but one part of a much bigger picture, not the whole picture.

People With Disabilities or Special Needs

Sensory-friendly, accessible activities designed with different abilities in mind.

Children With Special Needs & Their Families

Play-based experiences that families can enjoy and grow through together.

Families & Communities

Meaningful, creative ways for groups of all kinds to connect through shared play.

Playing to Heal is an inclusive, evolving organization — not one built around a single population.

Our Story

It Started With Slime — But It Was Never Really About Slime

My love for slime began when I was six years old, mixing colors and experimenting with textures just for the joy of it. One of my favorite memories is playing with slime alongside my grandpa, who brought his own creativity into the experience — showing me that something this simple could connect generations in unexpected ways.

Over time, I realized the bigger idea behind Playing to Heal was never really about slime. It was about making space for play throughout life — for people of every age and ability, not just the ones I happened to start with.

What We Do

One Mission, Many Ways to Play

Slime-making is where we started — it's one tool in a much bigger toolbox. Every program is designed to bring people together through sensory play, creativity, and connection.

Sensory & Slime-Making Workshops

Guided, hands-on sessions where participants create their own slime in a relaxed, social setting.

Creative Arts & Crafts

Open-ended, expressive activities that give participants room to create without a "right" answer.

Interactive Games & Nostalgic Play

Playful, social activities that spark conversation, laughter, and a little bit of nostalgia.

Community & Intergenerational Events

Seasonal celebrations and family days that bring different generations together through shared play.

Accessible & Inclusive Programming

Activities adapted for people with different abilities, so everyone can participate fully.

Community Partnerships

Ongoing programming with schools, senior centers, disability organizations, and more.

Why Does Play Disappear as We Grow Up?

We don't think it has to. Sensory and creative play is linked to reduced stress, stronger social connection, and improved emotional and cognitive well-being — benefits that matter at every age and stage of life.

PlayWell Slimes

Slime is where Playing to Heal began, and it's still a meaningful part of what we do. Our handmade slime line is launching soon — every jar sold helps fund the full range of workshops and programs we offer, not just slime-making.
